Jul 23, 2014 I will be asking our TAM to look into this - its possible they have so many resources on Office 365 for Mac that they aren't paying much attention to this old stuff. Incidentally, Lync 14.0.8 and 14.0.9 also broke the ability of our presence to follow calendar information, which is a huge requirement. MS knows about that issue. Lync for Mac 14.0.9 has been released and is supposed to fix the issue: 'Cannot join a meeting as an anonymous user in a non-federated domain in Lync for Mac 2011'. Did anyone try it? It seems like it still asks for credentials when connecting to the meeting, no prompt for guest credentials.

Here are some of the issues addressed within 14.0.9 (Please read the release KB for more information):

• Substantial improvement in Desktop Sharing (~10x throughput improvement)

• Top few Watson crashes fixed

• Location Awareness (LIS server for location) implemented

• E-911 support implemented

• Ability to select video camera for calls (can change camera while in a call/meeting)

• Warn users that contact list can’t be edited for UCS contacts

• File transfer now works

• Audio stutter fix when using 44100 sampling rate devices

• Fix QOE blob so that QOE metrics are captured correctly at server

• Bridge ACP calls so that Lync for Mac meeting experience will see ACP users in roster

• Anonymous join now works

• CVC version now has consistent numbering in Lync for Mac
